Our Founder and Artistic Director Master Terence Lewis is widely-recognised as India’s leading choreographer, dancer and TV judge and a multiple Guinness Book of World Records winner. He is a Doctor in the Performing Arts (Dance), an honarary title awarded by the National Institute of Education and Research, New Delhi, in recognition of his achievements in the dance sector.

Terence is a self-taught artist, who honed his skills mid-career with workshops at the Alvin Ailey School of Dance, New York. He was the first Indian to receive a fully-funded scholarship to study at Impulstanz, Vienna (the world’s leading contemporary dance festival) and is the only regular Indian teacher at Impulstanz. He developed a new style of dance, Indo-Contemporary, using his background in Indian dance and Bollywood with contemporary technique. He was the first Indian member of the UNESCO- International Dance Council - CID- Conseil International de la Danse.

Terence has judged India’s top dance-based television shows, including Dance Champions, Dance India Dance, Nach Baliye and So You Think You Can Dance! He has choreographed films including Lagaan and Jhankaar Beats; musicals including Children of the Sea and Finding Marina (both with children of the 2005 Tsunami disaster, presented at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2006, where Terence won the Best Choreographer Award) and Disney India’s pioneering stage musical The Beauty and the Beast.

Terence Lewis has entered the Guinness Book of World Records on four occassions – for conducting the largest Bollywood Dance Class in the world and the largest Indo-Contemporary Dance Class, both held in Mumbai, India! His campaign for FBB won the World’s Largest Photobook award.

He has received multiple awards in India and internationally for both, his artistic merit and entreprenuership achievements.

Mahrukh Dumasia is the Creative Head and Chief Choreographer of TLCDC and the Program Head of TLPTI.

Along with Terence Lewis, Mahrukh has been the founding member of the Company and the Institute and is a force to reckon with, owing to her multi faceted talent, keen eye for artistic detailing, and high standards in providing quality, be it in the fields of entertainment or instruction. She was one of the first Indians (along with Terence Lewis) to receive the prestigious Dance Web Scholarship, at the Impulstanz – Vienna International Dance Festival. Mahrukh is a multi-lingual writer, fluent in English, Hindi & French. With a technical background in dance and choreography, a passion for creative writing, and a natural gift for dramatic visualisation, she ably marries art and entertainment and transforms her beautifully expressed scripts into a magical reality on stage. Her background and experience as a French teacher (she taught at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai) makes her well-equipped to head the TLPTI.

We focus on providing the best quality training to those who intend to take dance up professionally. Our facilities are constantly maintained to ensure the health and well-being of the students. We have air-conditioned studios,  proper sprung wooden floors (that are instrumental in minimizing impact and preventing injury).
We also provide the best instructors to teach you. They have all been hand-picked and personally trained by Master Terence himself. We also  invest in each instructor’s personal growth, giving them scholarships and workshops to ensure that their dance and teaching skills are up-to-date. All our faculty have received international training and many have received multiple awards or full scholarships at prestigious dance schools and workshops. Master Terence takes two sessions as part of the DPLC course and may choose to mentor a piece for the DIDFC students. He is given regular updates on students’ progress and attends the presentation when both courses end.

मास्टर Terence DPLC कोर्स के दो सत्र लेते हैं और वो DIDFC विद्यार्थियों के लिए किसी हिस्से को मेन्टर करना चुन सकते हैं. उन्हें विद्यार्थियों की तैयारी और प्रगति के बारे में नियमित रूप से ताजा जानकारी दी जाती है तथा दोनों कोर्स की समाप्ति पर वे प्रस्तुति में मौजूद रहते हैं.'

The DPLC course is an entry-level course and is open to all, even those who have never danced before! We recommend some previous dance experience for DIDFC, since it is an intensive course and does require certain fitness levels and stamina, not to mention natural dance talent.

DPLC कोर्स एक एंट्री-लेवल यानी शुरूआती कोर्स है और यह उन सबके लिए है जिन्होंने पहले कभी डांस नहीं किया हो. बहरहाल हम चाहेंगे कि DIDFC के लिए आपके पास डांस का कुछ पिछला अनुभव हो क्योंकि यह एक उच्च स्तर का कोर्स है, जिसके लिए कुछ हद तक फिटनेस स्तर तथा ऊर्जा के साथ बुनियादी डांस कौशल होना ज़रूरी है.

    TLCDC has been awarded the title of ‘India’s Number 1 Dance Company’ a number of times.  There are many criteria to join the company, but a firm technical grounding is mandatory.  The Performance Scholarship Programme is an internship with TLCDC and deserving DIDFC students may be selected for this, based on aptitude and performance. If you complete the PSP successfully, you may be offered a permanent contract with the Company, and live the life of a professional dancer travelling to perform at elite events through the country and across the world!

Choreographer and Assistant Rehearsal Director - Terence Lewis Contemporary Dance Company (TLCDC) & Instructor in Contemporary and Hip Hop for TLPTI. He completed his early Schooling from an Urdu Medium School in Mumbai. He pursued dance at the Terence Lewis Professional Training Institute and was an outstanding student. He has choreographed and performed in various shows with Terence Lewis himself. Sally entered Dance India Dance (DID) Season 2 & 3 as a Choreographer and Season 5 as a Contestant – finishing amongst the TOP 7. He also received the prestigious ImPulsTanz Vienna International Dance Festival Scholarship in 2012 & bagged the position of Asst. Teacher alongside Master Terence Lewis himself. He has recently visited Poland on a scholarship to Fairplay Dance Camp. Sally is well-known for his trademark style “SALLY SWAG”.

Salim की शुरूआती पढ़ाई मुंबई में एक उर्दू माध्यम के स्कूल में हुई. डांस में कुछ कर दिखाने की चाह इन्हें टेरेन्स लुइस प्रोफेशनल ट्रेनिंग इंस्टिट्‍यूट में ले आयी, जहां इन्होंने एक बहुत ही होनहार विद्यार्थी के रूप में अपनी पहचान बनायी, इन्होंने Terence Lewis के साथ मिलकर कई शोज़ की कोरियोग्राफी की है और उनमें काम भी किया है. Salim उर्फ Sally ने Dance India Dance (DID) सीजन 2 व 3 में एक कोरियोग्राफर के रूप में और सीजन 5 में प्रतिभागी के रूप में हिस्सा लिया है और अंतिम 7 में जगह बनाने में कामयाब रहे हैं.

2012 में इन्हें मशहूर ImPulsTanz Vienna International Dance Festival स्कॉलरशिप भी मिली. साथ ही, इन्हें मास्टर Terence Lewis के साथ एसिस्टेंट टीचर के रूप में काम करने का मौका भी मिला.

हाल ही में इन्होंने Fairplay Dance Camp की स्कॉलरशिप पर पौलेण्ड का दौरा किया. Sally अपनी ट्रेडमार्क स्टाइल ‘‘Sally Swag’’ के लिए लोकप्रिय हैं.

Pratik, an ex student of the TLPTI, a topper of his batch (The Diploma in Dance Foundation Course), was appointed as a company intern for TLCDC. He was handpicked to be a part of the exclusive teacher training program. As a performer, Pratik has been trained in Contemporary, Ballet, Jazz & Modern from well renowned, national & international teachers. Pratik has received various scholarships for furthering his dance education - which includes "only passing through" in Italy (2017) and "flying low and passing through in EXIN - Greece (2018) from the creator of this technique Mr.David Zambrano, Goa Contact Festival(2016) and many more. Pratik is also a Principle Dancer for the TLCDC on the commercial circuit & has to his credit a long list of National & International shows of high repute. He is an Integral  part of  Paaradox - the Contemporary Performing Unit of the TL inc & then went on to perform for the company's Contemporary productions - 'Scrambled eggs', 'Shoonya' & ' The Kamshet Project' at the prestigious JUGNEE - Indo Contemporary Dance Festival in May 2016 and at the Prestigious Impulstanz International Dance Festival Vienna in 2017.

He is the Senior Instructor and Performer in The Terence Lewis Contemporary Dance Company and also the Assistant Supervisor of Terence Lewis Professional Training Institute. He was the topper of Diploma in Dance Foundation Course as a student. He has received International Dance Scholarship to be a part of the World's biggest Dance Festival - Impulstanz International Dance Festival in Vienna, Austria and stood 3rd place in the International Dance Battle representing India, competing against 60 talented trained dancers from all over the world in Vienna. Sunjoy has done a lot of  National and International Dance shows for the Company by travelling all over the world! He is also a part of the 'Paaradox' artistic unit of the company, performing dance productions Nationally and Internationally!

ये टेरेन्स लुइस कंटेम्पररी डांस कंपनी में सीनियर इंस्ट्रक्टर और परफॉर्मर हैं तथा टेरेन्स लुइस प्रोफेशनल ट्रेनिंग इंस्टिट्‍यूट के सहायक सुपरवाइजर हैं. इन्होंने विद्यार्थी के रूप में Diploma in Dance Foundation Course में सर्वोच्च स्थान प्राप्त(टॉप) किया था. इन्हें दुनिया के सबसे बड़े डांस फेस्टिवल Impulstanz Dance Festival, वियना, आस्ट्रिया में भाग लेने के लिए अंतर्राष्ट्रीय डांस स्कॉलरशिप मिला था और इन्होंने वियना में भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व करते हुए दुनिया भर के 60 हुनरमंद तथा प्रशिक्षित डांसर्स के अंतर्राष्ट्रीय डांस प्रतिस्पर्धा में मुकाबला करते हुए तीसरा स्थान प्राप्त किया था .

Simran teaches Strength & Flexibility/Body toning, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop Basics & Bollywood at the TLPTI and is a Senior Performer in the TLCDC.

She was a student of the DPLC & DIDFC Courses of TLPTI and got selected to be a part of the Company. She has been trained in Contemporary, Jazz & Ballet and has performed in numerous National & International commercial shows with TLCDC. She has recieved a scholarship from the TLCDC to train at the 'Contact Festival' in Goa and has also trained herself at the 'Deltebre Dansa Festival' in Spain

She is a part of PAARADOX, the contemporary production unit of TLCDC and has performed in contemporary productions - 'Shoonya' in India and 'The Kamshet Project' in India & Vienna.
